Texas - where to go for painting a bicycle frame in houston?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I would like to get my frame repainted professionally, can anyone recommend me of a good place in houston that I can get this done? I'm not sure where to go, bodyshop? Do they paint it or powdercoat? Anyone who has experience doing this please let me know. Also roughly about how much does it cost to get this done? Thanks. I would like to fix my old mountain bike and make her look nice somewhat.

Hi, This shop isn't in Houston, but in Dallas: www.southwestframeworks.com. I used them to repaint a road frame about ten years ago and it was a really good paint job. I highly recommend them.

These guys are in Spring. It was $100 to blast, chemical strip, and coat the frame and fork. I chose a "standard" color, the metallic finishes are more expensive. My turn around time was about two weeks, I guess it depends how busy they are. It turned out great they did an excellent job.

Doesn't look like he's doing any more painting/restoration:

"Do to Juan DeLeon health, DeLeon's Restoration will no longer restore or paint any bicycles. I do appreciate everyone and I had a tremendous time doing what I love to do."

+1 for David at Southwest Frameworks. He painted my Serotta this past summer.

I saw a Rossin Road bike frame that Precision Powder did. It was stunning work, and not near as thick as
some places apply it. They would be who I'd recommend. I used Myrmidon Corp on several bikes, and it was always so thick I couldn't get anything back onto the frame without sanding the finish down.,,,,BD

We are doing bicycle painting again!

I've been away from this site since 12/04. Do to my health we had to over come those obstacles in life. I have been painting since I was 12-years of age and never wore a breathing mask. I have upgraded my shop with a fresh air breathing system.

We are only doing frame painting. We are not doing full restorations. We prefer to receive only frame and components that will be painted. All complete bicycles are taken to our local Schwinn dealer for disassembly and assembly.

We don't have a website anymore but would send pictures and references if you wish.

Thanks,

Juan DeLeon
