Foo - The Cologne Thread: What do you wear?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I have never worn cologne regularly, just deo. And so obviously I know nothing about them. Planning to get my first one, and looking for some tips.
Gentlemen: What do you wear? What do you like better?
Ladies: What do you like to smell on your man? Any turnoffs?
Please do not go overboard, because I am cheap :D:D, okay well, not cheap but modest :).
Yuck. Why go through all of that trouble to unstinkify yourself in the shower, and then spray on artificial stink? If you're that desperate to smell bad, be a man and stop bathing. :p

Uh, I wear Dr. Burt's instead of deodorant. Does that count?

Once in a great while a little Ralph Lauren Romance. My wife likes it on me.

I like the smell of soap and healthy guy. I am turned off by anything that makes me sneeze or gives me a headache, which is just about anything else.

I rarely wear cologne, when I do it's either Acqua Di Gio or Givenchy.

I generally just like a man's own scent when good hygiene is practiced.
Occasionally, a light splash of Aqua Velva or Old Spice as an aftershave if he shaves. But no musk. The smell of added musk on a man almost makes me puke. Men have a natural but subtle musky scent already, and this is nice. Adding to it is just too much for this gal. Especially as his body heat amplifies the scent.

Wow! I use a bit of Old Spice ;)
I use no scented products at all, outside of the shower. The anti-perspirant I use has only water, alcohol and aluminium chlorohydrate. No perfume. Strong or persistant smells often trigger migraines for me, so I can't really use anything. I prefer to just smell "clean", if there is such a smell. :D
Cologne tends to give headaches, but if I had to I would say something with vanilla in it.

I wear Acqua Di Gio (Pour Homme, of course). Not quite cologne, it's eau de toilette. What does it mean (I'm just going to assume you didn't know, no offense if you did)? Ranking of strength of smell is: Perfume, Eau de Toilette, and then cologne. Cologne is the weakest of 'em all.
The Acqua Di Gio smells good according to most of the ladies I'm with - so it passes there! Don't go for anything too cheap, 'cause cheap stuff smells cheap (like Swiss Army, for example).
As some of the other posters have said, don't go for axe, tag, or anything that comes in an aerosol can.
Have fun!

Barring the Old Spice... I like CK1 for other occasions.

Nada. Nothing. Zipp...just me and whetever scent is left from whatever soap I used.
Like they say... if it worked for your grandfather it will work for you.Yeah, but your grandfather probably wore what his grandfather wore, and he wore whatever he wore because he bathed twice a month. :p
Zipp...
Eau de Zipp?

Polo Sport since I was 14. One half spray on my neck makes for a sweet smelling Cypress.

I prefer to wear natural musk only and my gf prefers that I wear that as well. She also wears natural musk only and that is what I prefer she wears. If your SO can't stand your natural smell than I am not sure how well you'll do together. If you're after just a quick fu** then that is a different story.
Nautica.
p.s. Its good to see you back cypress.

hmmmm....i am a man ya know.
i love the clean smell of skin, soap, shampoo...but there are some colognes i've smelled that i really liked. I don't like ones that are too strong, peppery or have that kind of cedar smell. I don't know which ones they were...the ones i liked that is but i'd know them if i smelled them again! i have a really sensitive nose...when i worked at a health club, some of the guys would pass by my desk on the way out and they'd have just had a shower and they smelled great!
Polo in the winter. The wife likes it.
Bay Rum in the summer. It doesn't draw flies.

Cologne, never. But sometimes I shower with a sandalwood soap, and that seems to get a pretty good response.

Wait, why are we naming Pauls? This thread is about bottles of stinky ****, not dudes named Paul!
To give a somewhat serious answer, I don't use cologne, but I bought a nice aftershave from Caswell-Massey (http://www.caswellmassey.com/jump.jsp?itemType=GATEWAY&itemID=8) a while ago that I use on special occasions.

I don't like perfume or cologne. I prefer a clean body. :) I do like to wear a this lotion though and it always gets a lot of complimentary comments.

Kenneth Cole. I may be Sasquatch, but I admit to being a total princess when it comes to this. Matched scents for shower gel, deodorant, and cologne.
