i bike cause it's nicer than sitting in traffic and that way i can feel superior : ) but then people steal my bike parts, not so much fun. i'm finally ready to take control of my bicycle education, so all the maintenance guys stop doing crap maintenance on my bike just cause i'm a girl (a la "oh we only replaced the back brakes because the front ones don't matter!!" the guy said 12 hours later when i came back cause i still couldn't stop, hm...) but first i have to replace the stolen bits, alas.

Hello keflex, that's a sad thing that you cannot get the local bicycle mechanics to fix things properly, and that your components are getting stolen :eek: !

Have you checked out Pitlock locking skewers? They aren't inexpensive, but they'll keep your wheels and seatpost yours.

I live in Riga, and find that there are many parts which I often can't find locally, sometimes even brake pads. Urgh. I usually order things from the following place. http://www.bike-components.de/catalog/default.php?language=en

On the plus side they have a massive selection, great prices, cheap shipping, excellent customer service, and often send things via courier to your door instead of using the post office.

On the minus side sometimes it might take them a bit long to get an order out, and you must pay via bank transfer. All in all I've been really happy with the place or the last three years or so.

i'll have to look into the pitlock skewers, it does sound like a way to park my bike outside my house again...after i get the seat replaced. i don't usually have a problem getting parts, exactly; at least my bike itself is polish and i'm in poland and so that issue is straightforward. the issue is generally either financial or trouble caused by these bike shops themselves! nobody seems very trustworthy, not just the seat-stealing drunks.

If you are in a large city check out some of the smaller shops, as they usually have better service. I know a lot of former racers here in Riga now have small shops, and the service is very good. I've recommended two in particular to female friends and all have been very satisfied and treated with the utmost respect. Ask around and hopefully you can find a good shop too!

Witamy, keflex. I had a tympanomastoidectomy a few years back and was most grateful for Keflex. :)

So, keflex, does this mean you'll name one child cefotetan and a grandchild ceftriaxone? Now you can even name a great grandchild cefepime! :D

Unfortunately most of the infections I see day to day laugh in the face of puny little cephalosporins... :eek:
