hey i just thought of something, im going on a mountain bike trip this weekend and will be putting my bike on a trunk mounted carrier. since my suspension is mounted under the top tube, one of the carrier arms will be resting on the spring. do you think this will matter, or mess something up? here is a pic of the bike

It will probably just sratch it up at worst, mount it real tight so it doesnt move much.

or put a cotton/non-abrasive "spacer" between the "grip" and the metal of the bike frame. I put that on my right pedal so that it doesn't scratch up against my cars bumper.

Can you slide the rack in between the seat tube and the swing link? I'd rather have the bike resting on the top-tube than the shock myself.
I've got a 4 bike carrier (two arm type). Mounting full suspension bikes on it, is a bit of controlled chaos. I do however try to avoid the shock itself!

i will have to try it out. hopefully the arm is skinny enough to slide in between the tt and the shock.

Try going with a top tube adapter. Yakima makes a nice one.
