Introductions - Introduction

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello, I am pretty new to bicycles. I found an old Motobecane Mirage at a yard sale that I'm trying to fix up, and found this site while searching for info on that. Last thing I need, another hobby project! I hope to get this bike ridable and get a few rides in this fall, then I'll have all winter to really clean it up and tinker with it.

Thanks for the suggestion about Classic and Vintage. I hadn't looked at it too deeply yet, not sure whether my questions fit there or Mechanics better. Do you think that people who read Classics and Vintage would know more about my bike?

We LIVE for this stuff :D . Yes, some of the folks at the Bicycle Mechanics forum would know too, but they would focus on the mechanicals.
We focus on the bike. Did I mention that we will need photos :p ?
