...A tendon question for you. Back in June, I severed the two flexor tendons in my left hand index finger. They were repaired four days later, and I went through the standard cast/splint schedule. Now, about two months after the splint came off, I still have only 90 degrees movement in the middle joint, and zip on the top. Apparently the tendon is scarred down, and I have another appointment in November and I will likely have another surgery then. My question is, do any of you have experience with this procedure, and how big of a deal is it? Any idea what I should expect?

I don't know a ton about it, but tendon releases for contractures are common.

Were you set up with an occupational therapist during your recovery? If not, make sure you get one ASAP. If you don't have a good therapist working that hand with you, it can still develop a contracture even after a 2nd surgery.

Good luck!

I've been working with a physiotherapist since I got the cast off. Eight weeks now. I will see him the day after surgery, so there is little doubt the surgery will help immensly.

Thanks!
