I have a late eighties Shimano 600 ( second edition) crank I need torque specs for the crank bolts. I thought 28 -30 ft lbs was ballpark anybody know shimanos spec?

Here's the straight poop from a Shimano 600 EX Service Instruction sheet dated Apr. 1984:
"Crank fixing bolt tightening torque: 250-350 kgfcm (220-350 in.lbs.)"
That equates to 18.3-25 ft.lbs. I don't like to torque my two 600 cranksets that much. I usually torque mine to 195 to 200 ft.lbs. - no, no, no! 195 to 200 INCH POUNDS. Sorry for the brain fart. and have never had a crank arm come loose or stick to the BB axle. I use a tiny dab of Never Sieze grease on the axle and fixing bolt threads.
