awesome ride. all the refreshments and handouts at the rest stops were way better than last year's. they had all sorts of different energy/protein bars, vitamin waters, energy waters, gu, and tons of other carbo goodies. last year all they really had were water bottles and orange slices and you were lucky to find a gatorade. we started late both days so we weren't really around any big packs, but we all had a good time.

I'd say that it was a success! better food, great support and I was not hoarse from yelling at people on Saturday!

Why was Saturday different than any other day?

It was the first time for me and I really enjoyed it. Lots of friendly volunteers, plenty to eat and drink at the stops, good dinner, breakfast and lunch, and the second half of the century went through some really pretty areas I haven't ridden before. The course was even marked well enough to not need the route slips.

Saturday was 108 miles with over 5200 feet of climb and Sunday was 43 miles with about 1800 feet.

I haven't ridden a charity event like this before, and the people sitting in wheelchairs saying thank you kind of made me wish I'd worked harder and raised more than the $1225 I did. Next year!...

Sorry I didn't carry a camera.

 Awesome, Jim! :) I've ridden the Bay-to-Bay, and yes, when you see those inflicted with MS at the end thanking you, it has a powerful impact on just how important these types of charity events are.

Wow, Dave. That's a great pic. You should send that to the MS Society to use in their next newsletter that will likely tell about the event. Thanks for sharing. :)

It was my first group ride....I had so much fun and am now officially addicted to cycling!!!
I did the first day in about 6 hours and the 2nd day in 4 hours..not bad for a beginner right? It was my first time riding for any type of event and I feel so accomplished...I'm so glad I was able to help out for this great cause. Can't wait to do it again.

P.S. The hill one the 2nd day almost killed me, if anyone saw me i was the one barely inching up it, but I am glad to say I refused to walk up that hill or any other hill. :D

The climb on day 2 you refer to must be Torrey Pines.

Nice work, and congrats on finishing!
