Hi, please excuse me if this has its own thread, I tried a few search terms but didn't come across it.
I just replaced the rear brake calipers on my 2007 Bianchi Via Nirone Sora (part of the piece-by-piece component upgrade) with a Shimano Ultegra caliper (front set on the way). Perhaps I was being naive (and showing my true rookie colours), but I assumed there would be a bit more of a standard than what I've found.
The metal fixture on the end of the cable housing doesn't fit into the top of the barrel adjuster as it did on the stock Bianchi brakes, it looks like it is a mil or so too big. The adjuster still works okay with the metal ring half-in on one side, but it doesn't look great and I'd rather not leave it like that long-term.
I've tried to track down the original Bianchi specs (a table full of all the diameters would be a nice addition to the handbook Bianchi guys!), but no joy. Is it safe to assume that, now I've gone Shimano, if I get replacement cable housing and fittings that it will be compatible?
