Mountain Biking - Car Bike Rack

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Any suggestions for a car bike rack? Is it okay to get one for $100, or are they usually no good? Probably at most, just two bikes. And how easy are they to take off the car and to remount onto a friend's car? Like 1 minute? 30 seconds? 5 minutes to remount? Thanks.

Go with the Saris Bones. Easy on, easy off. Very stable. Around $125. Only complaint is that the rubber feet may leave a mark on your trunk lid.
Stealth racks attach pretty solidly, have extremely good non-marring features and have some of the best cradles in the business (IMO).

I just wish the Stealth web site was up so the OP could check them out. Oh, and the 3-bike one has a couple extra stabilizing straps that the 2-bike doesn't. Worth getting the 3 even if you usually only haul 2 bikes.

How well do they work with bicycles that have shifter cables and hydraulic brake lines under the top tube?
My name is Grun.
I can't see the website. I live in Canada. Is it expensive? I am working on a budget.
The soft rubber cradle has mutiple 'channels' that the cables and hoses can kind of nest into. There's a pict in this craigslist ad that you can almost see them in:

Stealth +2 is about $89 and +3 is about $99 or $109 at my LBS.
