Ok...we've got the What Are You Listening To thread and the Song Name Game thread.
But I presume most of us in those threads aren't riding a bike while typing in those threads.
So, what songs do you like to hear (either in your headphones or in memory) when your cranking away?
When your just cruising?
I perfer something with a nice hard beat when I'm cranking away...perhaps AC/DC's Back in Black album.
Hells Bells in particular.
Cruising, no real preference, but maybe some Jimmy Buffet.

Beethoven's 6th Symphony absolute magic. And I'm hardly ever cranking away. ;)
The first line of Heart of a Lion:
Crashing through the city streets
Judas Priest's Desert Plains.
Just the music in my head.
Hungry Man - Louis Jordan: Pops in my head towards the end of every ride and most times I sing it out loud.
Manowar comes up most rides as well.
The sticks breaking under my tires provide the beat (or perhaps that's the odd cracking noise coming from my BB), the howling wind, and the birds' singing is the only music I hear when I ride.
That or maybe some Static-X (Push It, Start A War, etc...

Heart of Spring - David Arkenstone. This has to be the most relaxing song ever.
The sound of my Zipp 404 tubulars humming down the road.

I've been hooked on Phish's "Divided Sky" lately. But riding songs is a very dynamic subject for me, so soon it'll be something else.

Riding my super-monster hill loop this weekend, my songs were Primal Concrete Sledge (Pantera) and Shine (Rollins Band).
That or maybe some Static-X (Push It, Start A War, etc...
Beat me to it. My favorite is Static-X's Push It.

Cardinals and blue jays.
I hate it when "Bicycle Race" by Queen gets stuck in my head.

the soundtrack from Max Max: The Road Warrior. All the time. Loudly. I'm always on the hunt for the juice.

I'm all over the place. I almost always have a song going in my head and it's usually just a song I've heard on the radio or on a CD recently. Could be anything.

My brother and I decided a couple years ago on the Michigander that we were going to pass everyone, and go balls out for 50 something miles. I had a MP3 CD that I put on which was about 8 straight hours of Flight Of The Valkaries. That was pretty damn funny.
Other than that, I like listening to things like Kashmir by Led Zeppelin, A lot of Steppenwolf songs, Where Ever I May Roam by Metallica, or numerous songs by Ted Nugent that to me at least accurately capture the feelings Michigan's outdoors give me.

when setting out on a ride, i ususally start with "revival never goes out of style" by walls of jericho cuz it's got a driving beat, and killer second half, and always reminds me of growing up in the hardcore "scene" 12 years ago. then i just let the ipod shuffle through the rest of the hardcore on there.

R kelly - I'm a flirt(shoreline remix)
Someone mention broken social scene its remixed to that song by them.
I guess it'd be kinda silly to mention that riding a bike wearing headphones is not a real good idea:rolleyes:

Good advice, but wrong thread. The OP said it could be in your head as well. That's where the songs are in my case.

Damn straight. It's a fairly suicidal idea. That's why I mount speakers to my handlebars.

Nice...I had completely forgotten that one.
I use headphones on the trainer...not on the road.
I have used them on the Silver Comet trail as well, but generally when I'm way out in the boondocs and don't have a bunch of other people near me.

Another good one is Running Down A Dream by Tom Petty.
Bernstein's "Come Out Tonight" on repeat.
I am secretly an important man.
Most anything by Cake.
Morphine, Soul Coughing, and Nick Cave are good too.
