I picked up this new 2004 Litespeed Solano (demo with less than 50 miles) off eBay from a bikeshop in Colorado ($1,175). I put on CXP22 wheels with Ultegra hubs replacing the Real Design carbon fiber wheels that came with it. I also added a Fizik Aliante saddle. Full utegra 9 speed double. With the heavier wheels, comes in at 21lbs. No frame flex when I'm riding it (6'1" 235lbs)
It replaced a 1998 Lemond Alpe D'Huez I've been riding for the past several years.
I've put 75 miles on it over the past two weeks and I'm in heaven...

Schweeeeeeet!
A friend of mine has the same bike. It was a good idea to replace the wheels as he had plenty of trouble with them. Also watch the seat post. That had to be replaced as well when the bolt broke and he smashed his 'nads on the top tube. But other than that - it's a super bike!!!
that's a nice looking bike.
Congrats!

Congratulations on an awesome bike!
Now if you need to clear out some space in your garage, I have some extra room for that Alpe D'Huez frame right next to my old 9sp Ultegra gruppo!
Seriously, if it is 59 cm and you plan to sell it, let me know.

Nice ride...I am thinking of putting Deep V Velocity wheels with ultegra hubs on my Cannondale Synapse. I think I will feel alot better about blasting down a hill at 45 mph with something a little more stout.

Well, I'm running DeepV's myself and love them so far! Crisp and tight and they add less rotational mass resistance than I though they would ;)
