go to Revolution Bicycle Repair so that the staff can smirk at you for being another trendy fixie rider.

Then they'll tell you that it's usually cheaper to find a fixie at the Salvation Army or Craigslist or buy a new Iro Mark V frame and build up your own track bike, than it is to ask a shop to remove and re-weld the dropouts on your rear triangle. And they'll be right.

Then, after you're all embarassed and stuff you can go to Harris Cyclery and ask Sheldon if he'll sell you an eccentric rear hub (http://sheldonbrown.com/fixed-conversion.html) which will allow you to ride singlespeed or fixed without having to get track dropouts.

Sure, it won't have 'the track look' without the horizontal dropouts, but you're not another velospace fashion victim are you?

these are pretty sweet, just a little expensive. i helped convert a newer Raleigh with one of these and all the kids on velospace wanted to eat this kids face because he had a superlightweight bike with vertical drops and it was fixed. i recommend using harris' half link too. it makes it a little easier to adjust to the right size chain.
good luck!
