I have a worn out and heavy suspension fork that I would like to change to a rigid fork. I am not sure where to locate a fork for my bike or if most forks are universal (threaded works with all threaded, and threadless works with all threadless) Any help would be great, I am primarily using this bike on the road and would like to lighten up the front end quite a bit. Thanks in advance

You will have to buy a fork that is designed to replace a suspension fork that way the length will be correct etc.

My wife traded her suspension fork on her mountain bike for one made by surley. I forgot how much it was but its much better now for commuting and we were able to put good fenders on it.

Here it is.

68 bucks and it looks great.

+1 on the Surley fork!

You might also want to look at a Carbon fork too. I am using one that I got from Nashbar.

I have this on one of the Nashbar ATB frames and it's served me well this summer since I built the bike. Just remember, when you replace a fork to measure twice, have someone else check it before you make your final cut.

Good Luck
