There would be 6 or 7 guys wading down the muddy river for several miles and pulling these big flat heads out of the water. Personally I am too much wussy.

I grew up in Oklahoma, one of the few states in the Union where hand fishing or "noodling" is legal. Google Okie Noodling.

BTW, I was born in Texas and only lived in Oklahoma because at 6, when we moved there, I was not quite ready to face the world on my own. Still not ready, truth be told.

I don't know if it's legal in Kansas and the people that hand fish that I know, it wouldn't matter anyway.
And yeah, i've heard on noodlin' or telephonin'.
