I dunno Voltie. I don't even have a clue where Simi Valley is.

I just pass along the scraps of shiny things I find in the road...

Why?

Is that where all the hispanic/non-cyclist/POB/Ridazz/True Roadie/recycling/bike-disliking-women live?

Of course I've heard of it, Steve.

But if a name ends in "-Valley" (with the exception of the San Gabriel Valley, since I grew up in Pasadena) I am clueless as to where it is and have only the vaguest idea that it's a very hot place somewhere north of the 310 area code.

If I have to go there, I usually let someone else drive.:p

Oh Steve... go peel me a grape! ;)

As in?:

Send out for scotch, call me a cab
Cut me a rose, make my tea with the petals
Just hang around, pick up the tab
Never out think me, just mink me
Polar bear rug me, don't bug me
New Thunderbird me, you heard me
I'm getting hungry, peel me a grape

Sorry;

No grapes here, too hot.
Care for a peeled raisin?

I've heard a rumor that Cannondale is selling a bunch of System Sixs w/ Record and SRM SI Cranks for 5k. Has anyone seen this deal?

It's like totally a million miles away and such and so on, near the Canada.

I understand that Simi Valley is somewhere near BFE.

You may want to check with JPConrad. He seems to be a C'dale fan.

Just checked Google map. Simi Valley is Grand Tour far. That's really far. :p

I haven't heard any such thing, but if you happen across one in a 54 cm size, can you let me know? :D

I borrowed a system six for a couple long rides last week, and all I can say is that it was extremely smooth and felt very stiff. I was quite impressed. If it weren't for the shimano, the owner might not have ever seen his bike again. :)

That location is the west end of Simi Valley.
Depending how long they let you test ride, there is a 15%'er nearby so you can get a pretty good idea how a particular bike climbs. There is a (relatively easy) dirt trail to Thousand Oaks from that spot as well so a taste of off road riding is possible.

I currently own a System Six. I love it and it is the best bike I have ever owned. I was fortunate enough to borrow a SuperSix from the cannondale rep last month and I will definitely be racing one of those next year with the SC Velo team paint (which means I will have a one year old SystemSix for sale). The SystemSix rides great and is very light, stiff and responsive (which I love). To me the SuperSix felt even better and did not have the dead feel that I felt when I rode full carbon Treks in the 90s and one of the early Time carbon bikes in 2005.

I am a fan, but redal has more experience with them than I do.

My next bike is a Cannondale, though, I should have it in January or February.

I'll let you know if my friend in Texas can get that deal for me. In the mean time I'm trying to get Bicycle Johns to give me a demo bike to test out. I'm going to be either a 50 or a 52.

Thanks for the reply, I've been riding my six13 since december 04 and really like it, I am kinda half thinking of a system or super...I seem to be stuck in the Cannondale mode...
I will have to go and test ride some...

BTW, I took my wife's Cannondale in for a service last week at my LBS, he has a Pinarello prince, an awesome looking bike but at $13,000...it's a lovely looking bike but can it really ride that much better for the $$$??

My ability doesn't match up to six13 so I'd deffinately look stoopid on the Pino....

Most people who have ridden a Prince will say yes. The price difference between a Prince and a Super Six is only 2k. For many people it's worth the extra money.

Is anyone going to this? I think I'll be there in the late morning. They have a 50 and 54 supersix if anyone is interested. Not sure if there will be a slice though.
