I have read a lot here and have been able to see use in a lot of tips! I want to loose weight and gain better health! But a lot of what I read here is geared more toward racers/ century riders etc... Now I do plan on doing a century someday but first I need to get a start!

I commute to school ( about 18 - 20 miles a day, 4 days a week) and work (varies widly due to job) and I MTN bike a lot!! I am gonna build a program at the gym I go to.... What exercise should I work on? what should I do?

My big issue really is my diet and it needs to change! I eat what I can when I can... A lot of pizza, late night...etc etc...

So basically I was wondering if I could get help on a program that I am able to do!

Thanks a million,
Aaron

If you just want to lose weight, just about any basic weight training with cycling should do it for you. Make sure not to neglect you diet though!

Read a diet/fitness/nutritionbook. I started reading "One Body, One Life: 6 Weeks to the new you" And about a year and 4 months later I am 45ish pounds lighter woo! Ha, though I didn't eat as well as the book had told me too, but the exercises in their are incredible and very very nice. Everyday of the weekday is something different, whether core, yoga, martial arts, cardio, weight lifting, ect.

For what you're wanting to do, it's simple. Eat better, and spend some time riding. It doesn't have to be a ton of riding - if you can get 5-6 hours a week of comfortable riding, you can do a lot.
