Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

(car lite)
Convenience.
Yup, really. I can get to work faster by bike than I can by car. Bonus points for being more fun and better exercise.

I'm curious if there are carfree cyclists out there who do it for reasons other than its low environmental impact or the great exercise that accompanies it.
I not car-free, but my family owns one car, and I haven't used it to get to work for 12 years (except that I hitch a ride sometimes for convenience.)
My primary trans is bike/bus/train inbound to work, bike all the way home. That might change, as usual, to more biking.
The bottom line: any trip you can take on a bike is a giant victory. (I like to envision a future society that looks to us cyclists for advice on how to travel 5, 10, 20 miles without a car, in a reasonable time.
