Skin tight is alright!! If someone does not like the look, then they can look somewhere else.
I don't have a problem with them. I figure that the reason I am wearing them is do I will look better in them sometime soon.

Think of the people around you. Wear mountain bike shorts and an XXL T-shirt.

Bibs are much better than a waistband if you carry even the slightest excess in the middle.

I've got the Performance Century Gel bibs, and I think they're awesome for anything up to about 50 miles or any distance in cold weather. After that, I'd prefer to have the padding a little thinner to let some air get to my junk, and just rely on my saddle for the distance comfort that it provides.
Lots of people are big on the Aerotech Designs bibs and shorts. I remember them from when I lived in the midwest and they were a much smaller company, and apparently getting larger didn't mean any decline in quality.
If you're looking for a bib with generous padding, then the Century Gels from Performance are my choice.

Bibs are preferable if you have a bit of gut. You can breathe better ;)

Who cares what others think? I want the comfort and the protection from saddle tangle as well as the abrasion resistance of lycra, as well as the wicking of [proper fit. I don't wear it for style, it's just a tool.

Think of the small-minded people who will judge you, most of whom may well not exercise at all, and realize that their opinions aren't remotely as important as your comfort.

Wear one-size-too-small club fit spandex and send pix to Velo Dog. :)

I know most guys here have a gut and most guys here seem to prefer bibs. Don't worry what anybody else thinks in terms of looks....just wear what's best for you.
I recently got a pair of bibs, but have only worn them one time for a very short ride. I mainly got them because so many people here in the clyde forums seemed so keen on them.
Nice thing about bibs is they don't roll off my belly like shorts do :o .

Uhhhh, Velo? A XXl T-shirts would fit some of us like a Euro Race cut :D Then take into account that if it was just a T-Shirt then it would get nice and soaked and hug our kegs (yes, we have kegs and not 6-packs ;) ) like a skin tight body suit.
I wear bibs but I also wear a loose fit XXL or XXXL MX/freeride jersey on top even when on the road. Mainly because most cycling jerseys are to tight around the arms.

Okay, that's it. I'm going to post a pic of me in tights, wearing a XXL t-shirt that I earned by completing a recent century. I was asked if "that poncho" held me back in the wind...

What bibs do you guys use?
Personally I still ride in shorts a pair of PI and Sugoi. I like the Sugoi chamois so much better than the PI.
How are the Performance house brand bibs?

Bibs hands down, I prefer the PI with the liquicell chamois. comfortable and they have lasted quite a while for me. The performance bibs are iffy, I have had problems with stitching coming undone on some of them. Best pair of shorts I found were a pair of the in-sport (Academy sporting goods) brand. They are pretty comfortable shorts, but I wear a baggy dri-fit shirt with them or baggy shorts over them for mtn biking.

I love my bibs. I wear Campy bibs and they are very comfy, but I think I will give the performance brand a try as the price is better.
I wear bibs... with a compression shirt under them... less chaffing on the shoulder/chest area... ok... well less boob chaffing... and I wear a loose fitting dri-material shirt over the bibs...

Maybe I'll try that one of these days. Wear the bib OVER the shorts. I'm not sure how comfrotable it will be, but I'm sure it will look stylin'.
I have several Voler brand bibs and a couple Performace Ultra. I use my old shorts occasionally but only on the trainer. Ny wife tells me that the bibs actually have a bit of slimming effect.

Better to wear bibs than to flash the person that is riding behind you, I love my bibs, that's pretty much all I ride with anymore. I still need to buy another set of bibbed tights.
