Does anyone know about the Cannondale trade-in program? How much should I expect to get from a 2000 CAAD2 mountain bike frame?

Also, does anyone know how much the Headshok lefty carbon costs?

I know this is a lot to answer, but I just feel like I'm going to get ripped off by my LBS.

Thanks.

call cannondale (1-800-bike-usa) and ask them what the trade in is. When I traded in my old beat up m400 on a Super V I ended up paying $125 for the frame/shock and fork

It's not so much what they give you on your frame, it's the discount you get on new stuff...at least that is how the program was last year. I'm no longer at a CDale dealer so I don't have all the info anymore. If memory serves, that's a $700 fork I would highly recommend against.

I no longer work at a shop that's a dealer, but if memory serves correctly, you end up getting about a $300 credit for your trade in. I had a Lefty and never had problems with mine, but there are better forks available and you don't have to deal with the proprietary hubs. This is important when buying a 2nd set of wheels.

Wow, that actually sounds like a pretty good deal. I wonder what they do with the frames. Anyways, I have a 2000 Cannondale F300 CAAD2 with a standard Headshok fork. Really all I expect to get is a CAAD4 frame with Headshok fork for maybe $100 - $200 extra. But, just for the sake of curiosity, how much would i have to pay for the Jekyll frame with a Lefty Headshok? About how much is the Lefty Headshok? (whichever the standard version is).

Do you know if other brands have a trade-in programme? Lets say Specialized.

I think Cannondale is the ONLY company doing this. Probably figure about spending $800-$1200 plus your frame. Honestly, I really don't know. We did it so often and the prices changed from year to year. Plus, only certain frames were in the program.

I just found out they don't make the CAAD4 anymore.... The cheapest frame is similar to the CAAD5, but they don't call it that. I guess that is good because I doubt it'll be much more money than the old standard, CAAD4.

so i guess trading in my 10 year old rigid cannondale is out of the question.
