Ok, so I have a habit of wearing through the soles of shoes before the rest of the shoe is done. Now on nice shoes and boots, it's no big hassle to get the resoled. But for trainers and such I've been wondering whether I could take scraps of retired inner tubes and glue them over worn spots on shoe soles to get a bit of extra life out of them...

Thoughts?

I never heard of it, but it sounds reasonable. I'd glue it over hole then put another sole (like a Dr. Scholl's) over it all so it's nice and smooth and not bumped where rubber is and such.

I understand the problem though....I used to do this constantly when I was a teenager.
