Foo - I joined BF because…………

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hello All,
1 - I am a cyclist. I love riding bicycles and enjoy the comradeship.
2 – I wanted to be entertained and by some of these posts. That is fairly easy.
3 – I run a program call Folding@Home and thought some of you can Fold for the cause.
So I ride 150-200 miles a week for enjoyment and fitness. I love hills, more pain. Long live the cyclist.
For my entertainment, keep the some times, sad, heart warming, hilarious and stupid posts coming? :D
This brings me to the cause. How would you like to help find a cure to cancer while posting at Bike Forums? :)
You can help in the search to finding a cure for diseases, like Alzheimer's, Mad Cow, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's, and Cancer. If interested in using your computer to do so. It is simple, download a small program that runs in the background and that will make use of your CPU cycles. This is not hard to do; it just requires a little faith and the ability to do so. The Stanford University is very creditable.
It’s good to help out. More info can be found at http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Main. The FAQ’s are really good.
If you currently Folding let’s here about it. I have 6 computers dedicated to Folding 24/7. I am also a bit of a geek and my Folding rigs are screaming out a whopping 33.7 GHz of CPU cycles. I may be a bit of an extremist at this, but I have lost many loved ones due to cancer.
If you need help assists I am more than willing to help. I also can get you to the right place for assistants. Well that it thanks for reading my little post. We can make a difference and do more. ;) Oh...yhea check out the movie in my sig. It’s very touching.

I joined for general commuting and winter commuting advice. Then, after about 5 months I got bored with all that, hung out in car free for a while, also got bored with that, and now I am a fooster.

Pie
duh.
My daily quota of teasing and insults was not being met.
I discovered the value of internet forums many years ago. Back in those days i was learning about lawns, home automation and home theater etc. but then it moved on to other things. Anything in life that i got interested in, i went and found forums to learn about.
So when i started riding seriously a little over 4 yrs ago, I naturally googled "bike forums" and the rest is history. Why i ever started hanging out in Foo is beyond me. I'm still working on that one.
This is a very interesting group of replies.
I must say “Pie”?

I was stalking some one and followed her here.
She gave me the slip while in BF, so now I am just hanging out while trying to find the trail.
Can't you people stay on topic?

I bought a bike after many years and went looking for info.
Found ms.gio's dazzling picture.
Found a bunch of wonderfully twisted people.
Now I am stuck with a handle that doesn't make any sense and I don't like.

I joined because these people have ont seen the true glory of the buffalo wing...the subtle yet balanced flavor of butter, salt and vinegar...the sting of the fresh peppers, the texture of the chicken, and the crunch of the batter.

EVERYBODY loves pie;)
Why join? I found an old Puch frame and wanted to know more. People here on BF seemed to know more. Now, I've stuck around because it would seem that y'all are more than just a bunch of interweb characters... that and my pedal addiction has become a sickness, today I got a new bike (*giddy*)
I like forums, I like bikes..... Perfect mix of the two.
