For school, we have to wear blazers for 2nd and 3rd quarters, usually black blazers, but as a senior, I get to wear any kind of non flashy sport coat. Wondering what yall think looks better. Thanks.

What is with this fervid opposition to western-ware?

I went with option 1, but mainly because option 2 has a poor pose.

Go to a nice menswear store and look at a nice two button charcoal or black herringbone sport coat. I also like muted window panes. Either is classic and you can dress it up or down as the situation demands.

It is not fervid hatred, it is just that I feel your choices are very limiting.
How about a classic sport coat with a western shirt, string tie, boots and jeans?
Still get a western look but can be paired with slacks and worn to other occasions. just saying.

Says Mr. Seattle where the idea of "sport coat" is a water-proof trenchcoat, I could understandably comprehend what you mean, but this is Texas, and we do things a but differently hur in the south. ;)

Nothing wrong with suede itself.....but fringes.......ugh! Thank God you retired them.

My main "light jacket" is still a dark brown suede one, but not that whole Western patchwork quilt kinda look.

I think you are not only confused about your wardrobe, but your sexuality too.

Which do you think looks better?

Just because everyone wears it does not make it look good, and would never convince me to even let that coat near my closet.

Calm yourself Zoltani. Cultural relativism at it's finest I presume..

Infact, the more opposition I read, the more I am motivated to buy it. Of course, If I was at a job interview, you wouldn't catch me eating fast food with that (or any) western blazer on. This is my senior year of school, and I say why not. A applaud disreguarding social norms..even if it may be outdated.
Woof.

Give Mens Wearhouse a try EJ. Put on the style of pants, shirt, shoes you intend to wear to school on a regular basis and just stop by and try a few on. At the very least, you will see what your non western wear options are and you will begin to develop a style.

I am not that opposed to the western lapel, but would try to stay solid color versus contrasting color.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you want the western style?

jsharr

Go with a basic sport coat....Men's warehouse may have something in the $100 range, and it will be far more useful than the "westen wear" threads in the OP.

Well I have been wearing the traditonal black blazer for 3 years, and it's too redundant. My school is somewhat big with the Texas spirit type aspect, and I want something less common, unique, and mildy different. I think the western style has distintive and artistic characteristics, unlike common ones.
