I have a 2001 Raleigh R300 touring bike (Sora components) that I use for commuting. Nothing fancy, but heavy. I have Avocet 28c tires. I want to change the current wheelset, Sora Hubs with Alex DM18 rims. The DM18s are wide, 24mm and weigh 630 grams each. I have talked to some LBS and they want $100 labor to rebuild a wheelset with new rims, plus the cost of new rims. Nashbar has complete wheelsets cheaper than LBS labor. (1) Shimano 2200 hubs with Mavic CXP21 rims $ 69.95 or (2) Sora hubs with CXP21 for $ 109.95. Both are 36H which I want for toughness. What is Shimano 2200 and is it worth another 40 bucks to get the Sora hubs. I have Sora now and they are fine for commuting. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

They must be pretty slow wheelbuilders if they charge $100 labour.
