I recently bought the back roller classic panniers and have started to ride with them. After a month of riding they have started to take off the enamel of my rack. I have tried to adjust the bottom plastic sliding arm to stop the panniers from moving. This has not worked so far. Has anyone had this same problem or have an suggestions on how to fix it?

Friction tape on the wear point of the rack is one option. I use 3M all weather duct tape, available from Wal Mart and many hardware stores. It holds up well and doesn't attract dirt like friction tape.

I have two different kinds of panniers and both end up wearing on the rack where they are attached. My Arkels cause less wear than the Performance, but both result in some wear and tear. You could get the racks powder coated, I just repaint them before each tour with a rattle can, and that works for me. The rack I use is made of solid aluminum stock so the little wear is not a structural issue. If you have a rack that uses hollow tubing then small amounts of wear could be more of a concern.

Like little tan circles on your hand or the funny suntan on your legs or the scabs from road rash, these are badges of honor...signs of a bike that is used for it's purpose. Revel in them. Cyclists in the know understand where they come from. Those who don't...don't matter anyway:D
