My friend and i work at the theater here and we get tickets sometimes. We have 7 tickets to a circus de olay kinda show (different company).

We had 6 people coming, but it looks like they are all going home, leaving us with 5 tickets. There is a girl that i like, friendly ya know, but recently i've been getting the vibe that she's into me a little more then that, as soon as she found out about my girlfriend and i she's much more chatty and always looking for an excuse to hang out. Right...anyways.

I want to invite her to this show but i don't want her to think anything i'm not thinking, and i don't want to be a ****** bag and say something stupid to that effect.

What the hell is a friendly guy like myself suppose to do?

Just take it one step at a time and try to read the signals and go where you feel. The same advice applies to most of life.

Tom's answer was weasel perfect. It's just friends, but, heh heh, see where it leads.

Take the rebound sympathy tap if she offers, Timmy, and it will nip your emo in the bud. Don't assume she wants anything more than to add a notch to her own booty count. And she's probably sick of your whining and knows the cure. "Think what you're not thinking" for a change.

But be a gentleman. Good luck.

Walk up to her, and without saying a word, place a ticket in her hand (or on her desk, if that's how it works out). The catch: There's a condom packet under the ticket! Gasp! How'd that get there? Oh, how embarrassing!

PS: Don't do this.

You still have a gf? If so why are you asking out another gal before you completely resolve that relationship? <curious and, albeit not-been-here-for-a-while Vega>

Unless this is true philanthrophy on behalf of a gal who just loves the circus....

Huh? Weasel perfect? I really did mean for him not to lead her on. Be straight up and go the friend route for now. Given how he feels, jumping into a commitment would be rash at best. Seeing where it leads is just keeping an open mind, perhaps it'll change in relationship form after he gets his head on straight :)

Like I said, I may have missed some history by being out for a few days, but if you no longer have a gf, don't call her that. If you do, then call her that. <how-hard-is-that-to-comprehend-Vega-look>

I apologize for my misunderstanding, for I'm sure this is simply another generational-gap misunderstanding as to what words mean anymore.... :o

OY!

Quit thinking, double thinking and quadruple thinking what the outcomes and, oh - just the ECTERAS and stuffs can possibly come from this and ... and ....

ugh

Just do it and have a good time.

I've been single for the past year and am fine about it (although holidays still suck, ahem), but do hang out with some of my man friends with no problem.

Just go have fun, there's no reason to hang at a doorway, kiss, etc, etc if you didn't intend on it - it's totally OK to have woman friends - and believe me - we don't mind knowing that we're just friends too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This isn't about being single, i'm a pretty independent guy...truth of the matter. I just love the girl, i can't just erase it.

And...i probably have more women friends then i do male friends.

Dude, listen to me. You've got to get over this. Here is my prescription...

Drink a couple beers, put on Pantera's "This Love" and crank it to "11". LISTEN to the words. Cry during the song - it's okay to do that. Then at the end of the song when Phil screams "LOVE", you scream too. Just let it out. Scream until yours throat bleeds. You will break down after words, but you will feel alot better. Do not underestimate the healing power of Primal Scream Therapy. You will get through this.

I don't disagree. Thing is, you don't just "get over" someone you were with for 6 1/2 years. I love her, i love her family. Her damn nephews called me Uncle Tim. I was at her side as her dad battled cancer. I've been to two of her families funerals in which she cried in my arms, not her brothers or her fathers. This isn't just a "long relationship"...this was every bit of a relationship as they come.

I'm not certain that its over, neither is she. For right now i just need to not think about it and let time take its course.

Everything you say is true, but it is not healthy to go on this way. It's okay to let love linger, but at some point you have to try to move forward so that you don't drown in your own sorrow. I've been there and it's not a nice place to be.Take care of yourself first. If you can't make yourself happy, then there is no way that you'll ever be able to make anyone else happy.

No i understand this, slowly. I had a brief but good discussion via PM with someone about this (much appreciated). I think this is essentially why she broke up with me actually. She needs to figure out some things about herself as an individual. I've come to realize that i do too.

I'm certain she still very much loves me. This is based on many things, none of which are my naive hopes. We've spent time together since the breakup, we've talked a lot. This is hard on her as well.

Aside from some communication issues on her end, and me being moody on my end, there was never anything wrong with our relationships. Fights were few and far between, we rarely got sick of each other. We make each other laugh, are both physically attracted to one another.

The point is, our relationship was good with each other. I think the relationship with ourselves as individuals is what is hurting right now.

Until either one of us realize we don't want to be with the other...i'm going to hold on to some hope. That isn't going to prevent me from having fun.

Me being mopey and depressed is only partly because of the situation with her, i'm not sure that's something BF has fully realized.

I say two (wo)men enter, one (wo)man leave.

Just kidding. You already know that you have to make "interested girl" understand that you are well involved with someone already. If it's anything like what I've seen and experienced, "interested girl" is probably a trap anyway.

How bout some Jack Johnson?

Well I was sitting, waiting, wishing
You believed in superstitions
Then maybe you'd see the signs

The Lord knows that this world is cruel
I ain't the Lord, I'm just a fool
and in love with somebody don't make them love you

Must I always be waiting, waiting on you
Must I always be playing, playing your fool

I sang your songs, I danced your dance
I gave your friends all a chance
Putting up with them wasn't worth ever having you

Maybe you've been through this before
But it's my first time so please ignore
These next few lines because they're directed at you

I can't always be waiting, waiting on you
I can't always be playing, playing your fool

I keep playing your part
But it's not my scene
Want this part to twist
I've had enough mystery
Keep building it up
Then shooting me down
But I'm already down

Just wait a minute
Just sitting, waiting
Just wait a minute
Just sitting, waiting

Well if I was in your position
I'd put down all my amuntintion
I'd wonder why it had taken me so long

But the lord knows that I'm not you
and if I was I wouldn't be so cruel
cause waitin' on love ain't so easy to do

Must I always be waiting, waiting on you
Must I always be playing, playing your fool

Ugh, damn...my balls are shrinking. Hang on.

Ahh, there we go. My nuts have redropped.

Why is it that men always feel the need to be stone cold? It's as if hiding emotions deep within, well...your balls i guess, means that you are a better man.

I've got hair on my chest, i like big tits, beer and nachos is a good dinner, i love to bench press.

Oh, by the way...i wear lycra on weekends, enjoy the smell of roses, love when tulips begin to grow. Jack Johnson and Norah Jones get me goin. A dinner is better served with wine and candles. And...omg, know the various human emotions. Man, i'm such a p***y!
