Anyone having problems today with the breezy weather?

Power was just restored here on the Sammamish Plateau...but the wind is howling like crazy. I wouldn't doubt if it goes out again.

At this time (5:31 P.M.), ForecastFox says that the winds downtown, where I'm working, are 21 MPH from the South. The winds in Burien, where I live, are 32 MPH from the South Southwest. I'm just now getting ready to go put my gear on for my ride home (of course, to the south).
I figure I should make it home by Saturday. Either that, or I'll get blown up to Everett.
When the guys at the office here ask about how crazy I am to ride in this wind, I point out that (1) I won't be sitting on the freeway like they will be, and (2) if I encounter a downed tree or something like that, all I have to do is pick up my bike and walk around it. Try doing that with a car :-)
I think I see a girl on a bicycle with a dog in her basket outside my window. I work on the 5th floor. Wish me luck!

Things seem to be calming down a bit here in the South end as of now 6:10 but when I got home from work at 2:30 I was picking up garbage cans from down the street and everyones newspaper they didn't pick up this morning seems to have ended up in my rose hedge oh and I found a nice tarp so the storm brought me a gift.

I love when the wind brings gifts. A few years ago I was walking down 5th Avenue and it was rather windy. I look down at my feet and couldn't believe my eyes. Mr. Wind brought me a $100 bill! I was hoping for a beautiful woman, but what the hell...$100 ain't so bad.

I was biking in a straight line at a visible lean to the right, for about a mile...

I stayed out of it yesterday...I did notice that there was a lot of cottonwood debris in the roads, and my power was off and on all through the day (mostly off :( ).

I made it home using only about 20 minutes more than I usually do. No real problems, except that there were some rather strong side-winds in a few places. I even saw about half a dozen other riders out while I was.
Got home and the power was still out, so I dragged out the generator and hooked it up. Got the power shunted to the furnace and all the lights on, then sat to relax for a bit. Naturally, about 15 minutes later, the power was restored. <sigh> Return everything to the way its normally connected. Finally got a good dinner and it was bedtime.
The ride in this morning was actually pretty good. The wind was at my back for a change. I hope this thing mellows out over the day. At least its Friday :)

I stayed off bike to be safe and drove in. Didn't need a 50mph gust blowing me into an oncoming car.
Ended up being little more than a strong breeze here.

I heard. Did you lose power?

Had power off long enough to have to reset the digital alarm clock, otherwise, didn't notice much at all.
Riding home was great. I had a tailwind most of the way home. I didn't know that a wind storm was expected, and, just happened to have a very heavy load in my panniers (extra clothes, books, etc). I was headed north; I feel very sorry for anyone who had to ride south.

I got home about 2:30 and noticed the Power Failure display light on the stove and the clock was about 10 minutes slow so we didn't have much problems

As I said above, the East Hill must have gotten hit hard...I was in Burien part of the day, and it was a mess up there as well. I got home and discovered that the power was out, came back on, went out again, came back on, went out again, came back on, went out again, came back on...[repeat about 20 more times]...very scary day. A lot of tree limbs falling on power lines, then being blown through the streets. The neighbour's willow tree fell over into the street, and had to be sawn up to be removed.

I'm reading this thread because I'm going to be in Seattle later today (the 21st), but I have to say that 20-30 mph winds are pretty common where I live in West Central Ohio. My No ride limit is 40 mph because that can blow you off the road. Glad to see that tghe winds are subsiding though.

Everything has pretty much settled down, but in the places I've been, there's still a lot of debris around.
How long are you going to be here?
