I'm looking for an inexpensive front rack for a suspension fork -- not for long-distance touring, but just for around town.
Anyone out there with the Delta Shock rack (or the very similar MEC front suspension lowrider rack)? Is it a good rack? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

and the reason for a front rack for a suspension fork for 'just around town' rides would be..?
do you intend to carry a lot of gear that can't be fit in a pair of rear panniers so you need front panniers as well?
it bolts to the fork with rubber covered U-clamps...likely to be a bit squirrely under load, and affect handling adversely because of the front suspension.

bernbird,
Try the touring forum. There are a couple of people on there that have them and use them. I have one on order but it won't be here for another week:( I plan on mounting on the front of my city bike to help balance out my load. I am putting the Wald folding baskets on the rear.

Thanks, guys -
The reason I want a front rack is because I carry large loads of groceries, and I want to balance things out (I know, I know - I could use a trailer - but I'd rather not at this point). My suspension fork can be locked out so that it is more-or-less rigid.
I'll try the touring forum -
Thanks again,
Bernbird
