I don't know the route yet, but anyone interested in a joint NorCal and SoCal ride, starting somewhere in either Morro Bay or San Luis Obispo? I wanted to plan this for 1st or 2nd week of November? I'm not committing yet, but just wanted to see if there was any interest.

By Norcal you mean the San Fernando Valley, and by Socal you mean Orange County, right?

Just kidding, I would love to meet up with a big group in... Midcal!

My first thought was 11/10, and yes, we'd probably do some parts of the Lightthouse ride, but I'm trying to get more of my compadres from NorCal to come down ... a Cal BF ride ... a party ride!

At least a couple of us are already planning on being up in SLO area that weekend with the Liquid Cycling team. If you end up on that same weekend, perhaps we will run into you...

Well, I'll see if there is an interest in the ride before I do this.

Would be fun however we are in the midst of soccer season so it would be tough for us to get away.

Solvang's finest century is on 11/10... I plan to do that one, but willbe returning to LA that afternoon.

Maybe you'd get some takers for the 11th in that area?

That's ok, Herb. I'm just trying to see how many will be interested. Since I haven't gotten any interest, I won't do it this time. I may decide to lead a ride around the same time locally here ... just so that I can say I led a SoCal ride.

Since there isn't much interest in this, I am cancelling this ride. Maybe try it again in spring when the conditions may be a little better.

I think that's a great idea, Ron. It wasn't that I had no interest, just with all the other rides, and now the weather conditions, I think people are not focused on it.

I might be interested when it's rescheduled.

I know ... I realize that it's just not the right timing, and after being in SoCal over the weekend, I completely understand that this is not foremost on everyone's mind, so that's why I cancelled it. I am thinking of April to do this (preferably before or after Wildflower, so as not to conflict scheduling).

Ron how 'bout coordinate your ride with 2008 SF to LA Bike Tour (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=355852). It'll be great to have Nor Cal folks help us navigate thru your hood.

Yea, I'm kinda wondering where they want it to start. I have some ideas, but not sure about after it goes south of Gilroy.

You take us as far as you can go, we just need to elicit more help from locals along the way.

I'm potentially interested--I loved riding the Lighthouse Century. My only concern is that I'm slow; it'd be a shame to start out with a large, raucous group, and be left alone in short order with the elephant seals. So form a sense of the likely pace, how much climbing, etc. It sounds like a great idea.
