What is the correct method to strip the paint off an aluminum frame and carbon fork,in order to re-paint it?thanks

I would go with media blasting. They use different materials depending on what they are doing, but for that app. I would think they would use crushed walnut shells. These will remove the paint without harming the frame itself. Run away if they want to sandblast it. The carbon fork is painted? If it is, I would lightly hand wetsand it using 400 or 600 grit sandpaper, paying close attention so that you don't sand anymore than it takes to remove the paint, then give it a coat of clear epoxy to show off the carbon.
