So after spending almost two years in the incredibly hard to ride in Fort Wayne, Indiana  I have the opportunity to relocate to Hillsboro, Oregon. :D What kind of great rides do I have to look forward to?

I am confused...your location says that you are in 'Seattle'.

But unixpro's answer is spot on.

When I first joined bike forums I lived in Seattle and then got a job transfer to Indiana and never updated the profile. Now I have and offer in Hillsboro but know next to nothing about cycling in the greater Portland area. I hope this clears up any confusion.

Ah!

Try this, then:

My guess is that you will find cycling in the greater PDX area to be a rewarding experience :) .

I'm surprised that you find Ft. Wayne hard to ride in. Although I haven't ridden there, I ride West Central Ohio a lot and have ridden in much of Indiana and Michigan and I consider West Central Ohio, at least, one of the great riding areas in the country ( I have also ridden all over Northern Cal, Texas, Oregon, Arizona). Just curious, what about Ft Wayne was the problem?

You are right about Ohio and Michigan and other parts of Indiana are pretty great. Fort Wayne is flat, windy, and does not have much of a riding scene. In Seattle I was used to being able to ride pretty much year round, here not so much. One good thing here is that I have found my LBS to be exceptional.

Just a couple of rides that I like:

Hagg Lake, Bald Peak (all directions)

Portland Velo has weekly rides. See www.portlandvelo.com (http://www.portlandvelo.com)

See you on the road...

I mistyped - it is www.portlandvelo.net (http://www.portlandvelo.net) for the website.

I'll second chillyc with regards to Portland Velo. I joined this year (although you don't have to join to ride) and have had a number of great rides. Good people, well organized.

Ride safe.

Thanks. I will be out there this weekend looking at houses and such.
