I was standing aside the road, making an adjustment to my saddle, when an SUV pulled up alongside. Two women were inside, and one rolled down her window. The other, in a heavy European accent, said, "May I ask you something that will sound crazy?"

Who am I to resist that?

She then proceeded to ask if they could take some digital pictures of............my Take a Look sunglass-mounted mirror!!! They had never seen such a thing, they said. Of course, I allowed them to snap away. But they truly weren't interested in anything but the mirror -- they even had me take it off so they could snap some closeups.

Afterwards, they smiled, thanked me, and motored on. Odd, huh? Oh, and I was wearing my 50+ jersey, too.

What were you doing adjusting your saddle? How often do you need to adjust your saddle? Did you grow two inches last night?

Not the saddle on the bike, HIS saddle. No wonder they wanted a pic.

Be careful, I think it was identity theft, now that they have your profile. Get it.

:roflmao::roflmao: That's exactly what I was thinking... and right after that I thought, "Boy, that Digital Gee is always changing something". My second thought was that DG must have thought "Holy Cow! Why didn't I* think of taking a photo of myself in my Take A Look glasses!!!???"

It would make a cool avatar, especially if you messed with a reflection of yourself in the mirror.

Agree with Thrifty...how old are you, DG?

The politically correct manner to say this is, "verbalizing her unique and singular personage with an extreme vernacular that could possibly indicate social and/or family legacy roots from the European Union previously, but unfairly, known simply as Europe."

Well, that of course is what I meant to say. I thought I implied it quite well! :D

I never realized how similar a space alien's nose is to Michael Jackson's.

Was this a Spanish accent, Finnish, Romanian or Duchy of Grand Fenwick?

Hermes and I just returned from cycling in Italy and we were given a download of how Italian cyclists navigate in traffic. One of the things that we learned is that none of the cyclists there wear mirrors. They signal and assert themselves in traffic, only looking to make sure there is not a vehicle right next to them. The drivers accomodate the cyclists and they all seem to co-exist. While the drivers come quite close upon passing, it is not done in a threatening manner. The kiss of death is hesitation - if you signal you are moving to the left, for example, do it, otherwise, the drivers get confused. So that might explain the fascination with your mirror. Sorry if I burst your bubble.
