Decided to out for a quick ride today, maybe log 25-30 miles and go home. Well, at about mile 20 ( of what would become 27) I flat. No big deal, I thought. So I take the tube out and put some air in it to find the hole - not a whisper. No air leaked out of the tube. So I just say the heck with it and put in my other tube.
When I get that one up to pressure the tip of the valve with the nut on the end comes off and gets stuck in my pump. Okay, I'm thinking, I still have a patch kit and the other tube. So I blow it up again looking for the hole - can't find it.
So with a little skepticism, I put it back into the tire. Once I get it mounted and start pumping it up it starts hissing. Take it off, finally find the damn hole and patch it. Put the tire back on AGAIN. But since the tip of the other valve was stuck in the head of my pump I can't get a good fit with this valve, but I manage to get it up to 80 psi before it gets to hard to hold on - alright fine, it'll do the job.
So about half a mile from my house the tire goes flat again, so I just walk it home - in my road shoes.
Take a trip to the LBS to get a new tube. When I get home I look at the old tube and realize it was a bad patch, but in finding that out I brole thew valve stem on that tube.
So I put my newly bought tube. Pump it up to 45 psi and check the bead, eveything looks good. Pump it up the rest of the way and BANG - it blows out.
And that's where I'm at right now. Hopefully I don't go too many more tubes before I fix this damn flat. Thanks for listening!
