I've never used one. But I was doing some googling around the other night and ran across a webpage where Husky sells these (Worksman also does, by the way). But on the Husky page, they mentioned that these should not be used empty. I guess the thing is that you normally balance a bike by steering, but steering is slow on these, yet the rider needs to be balanced due to being over the back wheel (unlike a normal trike, where weight is on the two wheels). Anyway, looks like a good deal, hope somebody can put it to use. I've seen one of these used as a pedicab (which Husky does not recommend, also), as well as general moving of stuff.

They can be rode empty, but they handle WAY worse than a regular bike. They're strictly for going moderate/slow speeds over smooth terrain. Even 20 mph would be pretty edgy, 12 mph is about right.
