Hi,
I like that size, but it's hard to find. Don't care what BB it uses.

Thanks

How many chainrings do you want to use?

I use a triple. It can be be a road or Mtn bike crank, doesn't matter.

Lennard Zinn makes custom cranks in about any length and configuration you want. I have no idea what his prices are but what you want should be available from him.

I'm pretty sure his e-mail is l.zinn@comcast.net or you can check on the VeloNews web site as he is one of their technical editors.

Yeah,
I have heard of custom cranks. The ones I have are just plain old Shimano 105.
Some companies make them, but it's basically impossible to find them.

Whoa, nice cranks, but expensive. I am trying to bring a Bridgestone XO2 back to life as a commuter. But I might get those and put them on my Gunnar, but not anytime soon.

But thanks, really nice cranks.

Got a short leg. I use a 170 and a 167.5 on the shorty. I also use shims under the sole and one Lemond LeWedge under the cleat to even things up.

Wish I'd done it 20 years ago.

Which side do you want a 167.5? Single cranks are available.

The right side.

I have a Shimano 105 crank in a 167.5 length. It's a shame they don't make them
anymore. It is a lovely size, and I think a lot of people would like it.

I think TA makes cranks in many lengths. Not sure if it's been posted, but there's someone out there who will cut down your crankarm and drill a new pedal hole. I'll see if I can find the link. Here's a guy who does it, but not the person I was thinking of:

Cool idea, thanks.
I think the first thing may be shortening
a 170 and seeing if that works.

The next thing to try would be to use the other 167.5 crank I have. I'll get
a new 165 crank, and use that as my short side. Might work.

Thanks, everybody, I felt stumped before, and now I have a number of choices.

Generally the minimum you can shorten a crank is 25 mm. You can't shorten a crank by 2.5 mm, the pedal holes overlap.

Dura ace and XTR come in that length.

I'm sure the Sugino XD comes in 167.5mm. If you are unsure, just buy either the 165 or 170. The Sugino Alpina definitely comes in 167.5mm.

These guys have the RD crank arms in 167.5mm. You would then have to buy 130bcd rings. I think you can run them as doubles.
