Touring - Been Trying To Get On Raleigh's Web Site -

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
And it is so slow I can't get any info.
I'l like to know what are the components of the Sorjourn, and how they stack up against the competition.
Raleigh also has a new hybred and I'd like to know the component of that bike.
Anybody have a clue ?

I don't know. This bike is a puzzle for me. I have the Competition, and I love it. I don't care what people say about Raleigh. It's a solid bike. 105, and Ultegra components.
Now the Puzzle with the Sojourn. It's weird. I think they were wise coming up with a comfy tourer, with a low end price. And it has some great features. But I think they had to offset those costs with some questionable choices. The Sora crank, the cheesey disc breaks. I don't know. It's a good deal, but I know I will have to switch out some components, which in itself makes it somewhat less of a good deal. The Deore derailleurs have been great on my mountain bike though, so despite the gripes I've heard here, I'm totally cool with them. So my Sojourn/Surly LHT debate will continue on until this spring until I can actually buy one of the two. I just hope someone locally will stock the sojourn so I can test ride it. The Surly was not quite as comfortable as I had anticipated.
I can understand your delima. The Trek 520 is very good, a few changes and you are there, crank change (48-36-24) being the main one. The REI Safari is very good for the money and may end up being my choice as the components are good and from all the reports it works and last a Long time. One top of that, REI really stands behind there products !!!!
