Hey peoples, I'm somewhat new to biking (been about 20 times is all) and I'm browsing these forms, but I'm seeing ALOT of words/terms I have no idea what they mean.

Is their any threads that can help me out with this? I'm curious to learn all I can about my bike and techniques but have no clue where to look (did a messload of search's which came up empty).

Thanks people!

Check out www.sheldonbrown.com for a glossary of terms. I believe Park tool's website also has a glossary. Any good repair book will have definitions as well. If you've got a particular question about something, you should be able to find the answer by searching for the keyword.

The headset is the combination of upper and lower bearings, bearing cups and races at your headset. Basically it's what allows you to turn your front wheel. There are two distinct styles. A threaded (older style with a locknut on the top) and a threadLESS (newer style that is held together by the stem).

If you're looking for the absolute BEST headset, look to Chris King. Here's a link: http://www.chrisking.com/headsets/hds_index.html
