Last Friday I was doing a tricep pull down in the weightlifting program I follow at our rec center. Of course, I was showing my wife how to do it "correctly"
Well, after a bit at home, my back, and especially my hip were really killing me. I figure I bent my back to get the darn thing to come over my head, instead of keeping back straight and using triceps. Of course, I was trying to push too much weight.
Well, I did a bit of biking on Sunday (20 miles) and on Monday it was worse. My hip joint seems particularly affected.
I have had acute bursitis in that left joint a couple of times, and I think that is what it is. Anyway, I am off the bike  for a bit, and off of weights also. I tried some weights tonight, but even just doing the biceps transmits enough pressure to the hip/back area to hurt.
It is ok if I am just walking, but I have to be careful in putting weight on my left leg like when I get out of the car.
So, I am grounded for a while. I know with the bursitis that if I just leave things alone, take some motrin, it ventually goes away.
Darn.
Next time I will let my wife show ME the correct way.
