Southern California - Congrats to All of the Double Riders, TCers, 1,000 Milers

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

And although not on here, riders I know who have been on the site in various rides or mentioned in ride reports:
Keith Brodsky
Stan (Vertical Bob's friend)
Francis
Mary (Spingineer's friend)
The whole ADO gang - Clem, Roland and Ron and Clem's daughter, Renee, Lynn Katano and Dave Evans
Am I missing any? Please speak up and mea culpa, I'll add you to the list immediately. But  to all of you who even attempted a double, finished a double, those who made Triple Crown and the two 1,000 milers regular BF members (DanteB - also a TRIPLE rider- and RickOCRR). Great job, you crazy, crazy people! You really did well and it was great to watch the progress and reports over the year. We are all characters, so it's been filled with interesting accounts and moments, and that's what makes all of this so damn fun. :D

 Sorry, Luwin! I remember that wonderful ride report now. I'll add you to the list for sure. :)
ME, I did my fifth double, Bass Lake, last weekend. That gives me the 1,000 mile club and one of the doubles was a triple.

You going for TC next year? :) Awesome, Frank. You know, even just attempting a 200-miler is an epic experience. Trust me on this one. :D

TC and KOM.
Reason #72 biking I love biking -- so many niches, that you are bound to find one that appeals to you. MUP riding to ultra-endurance. Flat centuries, hilly centuries, criterium racing, track racing, mt biking, triple crown, randonneuring...

Just so y'all don't think we only HOST rides:
We did four doubles, a full brevet series (200k, 300k, 400k and 600k), two week long 500+ mile tours, and five organized centuries.
:-)

Alas, I must be taken off that list. This year I have only done single centuries (or any other year, my first was in February. :)) I do hope to make the list next year.
Cheers! Solvang Double, where I heard about the BikeForums.Net site.

Thanks for posting this, ME. It's great to see recognition for hard earned work. One more list that you didn't include were the triple crown winners, but then again, that's on the caltriplecrown.org web site anyways.

Ron, if you'll note in my OP, I congratulate those who won Triple Crown but don't list them individually, because the point of this thread is to applaud, in a congratulatory, inclusive spirit, anyone who rode one double all the way to those who rode 5+ this year. My personal feeling is that there is no need to single those folks out in this community as they know who they are, have been congratulated in separate ride reports, and yes, they are listed on the Triple Crown website (not to mention the jersey that can be purchased). I do mention the 1,000 milers just because those are people with butts of steel. :p

Thanks M.E.
And we hope to see you out there on more doubles in '08.
You would look so good in a Thousand Mile Club jersey!
Sorry your mojo wasn't happy about the Fall Solvang . . . it was a great ride (if a bit on the windy side).

That's so sweet of you, Rick. I may go for the 1,000 miles next year. I, unfortunately, got hit with a lowpoint of late and lost my enthusiasm. But I'm so weird with my moods, I'll likely be back out suffering...um...I mean, truly enjoying 200 milers again in '08. ;):D
