I'm here. (Jschen's quick with the typingnessitude.)

I was evac'd at midnight (not mandatory, just precautionary...) went to my wife's parents house in Rancho Bernardo...who would have thought that five hours later I'd look out their window to flames burning down houses on the next street over. Threw the family dogs and whatever of my in'law's I could (they're vacationing in Greece! :( ) and convoy'd with my parents through 4S Ranch, to the 5, to Oceanside, back East on the 78, and just beat the Fallbrook/Rainbow I-15 closure Northbound. I'm safe and snug in my aunts house in Murietta.

Just had about eleven beers and three pizzas to decompress. Dogs, kids, and my amazing wife and parents were absolute troopers.

ps....Just came over the news, Mandatory Del Mar Evac going on right now. Good luck everybody.

Pps...I'm monitoring news for any reports of fire at the Wild Animal Park...if those reports come, then my house is next.

On the bright side...NEW BIKE! ...just kidding. What else is there to do, when all around you is aflame?

I really appreciate the concern, everybody. If anybody needs a place to go, Murietta is pretty good.

Santa Anas don't seem to be bad at all, and there's not miles and miles of dried brush and crap to the East.

Glad you're OK, Both of the evac centers are right near my hosue, so I've been over to help what little I can and come back and check on the wifey, her parents and bro is STILL in 4S ranch, they havn't left yet. I guess they were waiting for the mom who had to take the residents from the nursing home she works at to Del Mar fair. They release her about 30 minutes ago and is somehow working her way back home. I'm hoping once she gets there, they will leave. They have no power is 4S right now, and the cops are patroling the streets so they get some info from them. I guess they aren't the only ones that didn't leave when they got the call today.......

Air in my apt has gotten a lot worse in the last half hour. My eyes feel the sting even indoor. I'm considering going to somewhere with better conditions, but it's not obvious where that would be or how difficult it would be to get there.

Over here my a/c filtered things fine.

BTW, Dan/Jason/others in UTC, you guys/gals may want to start packing up just in case. Sorrento Valley is being evacuated now; Mira Mesa is just one block down and La Jolla Village with then be next.

Yup, I'm prepared to leave if necessary. Where to, not a clue, but ready to go.

My friend was thinking of I-8 eastbound onto Arizona when he was being evacuated from Scripps Poway, but there are 2 blockage on I-8 based on cbs8.com that still exists right now.

I don't have much clue as well. I guess if we were being told to evac, most likely we'll head to the centers.

BTW, don't forget there's still the Harris fire going westbound on Chula Vista area as well.

My institute's officially closed tomorrow. No big surprise. I'm going a bit crazy being cooped up like this.
