Hi there & thanks in advance,

I know this question has possibly been asked several times but I will ask it anyway.

I am looking for some good trails in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Preferably half - full day rides.

I will be getting back to the UK at the beginning of November after having been stuck in the US for the past 7 years!! Yay!!

I work as a travel photographer so I will be touring all four countries for three months before getting home to Jersey. I know the winter isn't always ideal for some for riding in cold and harsh conditions but the winter is my favorite time of year.

Throughout the tour of the UK my schedule is pretty loose so I will have plenty of time to get in some rides and any help on where would be hugely appreciated, and of course the more scenic the better!

Anyone wishing to meet up and ride a trail for the day is more than welcome and my appreciation will be shown with a pint or two down the pub afterwards!! :D

Thanks in advance again!!

Cannock Chase in Staffordshire (just north of Birmingham) has quite a few trails, I could possibly show you some if you drop me a PM with a likely date.

Llandegla Forest in North Wales. Think it won some kind of award for best UK trail recently. If you google them and go to their website, there's a helmetcam video of their black run.

+1 on Llandegla. The black run is fantastic!

Bit late on getting to this but the South Downs Way on the South coast. Runs from Winchester to Eastbourne along the downs. Admittedly 100 miles long with 10,000 ft of climbing but Start at Eastbourne and ride 35 miles to Devils Dyke above Brighton for a sensible distance. Just don't do it on a wet day- or with high winds- get a bit muddy.
