a few years ago I bought tape that was supposed to match the honey B17... it did not.

Has anyone purchased both the Honey saddle and tape recently? Do they match?

Thanks!

You have to wear the tape in, just like the saddle. Both my 'Honey' saddle and tape look more like 'Antique Brown' now :)

I haven't purchased the honey but I did purchase the darker brown and no, they don't match. The saddle this deep, rich, shiney brown and the handlebar tape is flat, dull brown. This is my first time buying Brooks tape and I pictured it looking a lot more like the saddle. The tape is very thin, as thin as synthetic tape and just doesn't scream "Brooks quality" the way the saddles do. I can understand the thickness being much less (and would expect it to be so) but I don't think it would be as cheap looking as it is.

Thanks for the replies!

I went with Elkskin from Velo-orange. Heck, it was half the price of Brooks tape, so I went ahead and ordered two different colors... I'll put the one I like more on my LHT and the other on my single-speed.
