Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I'm sure this has been done before, but a comment I made in another post has me curious. I'll start. I'm from Michigan, and there's a peach of a little brewery in Kalamazoo called Bell's, they make all kinds of great beers, my fave for summer is their wheat, called Oberon.

Any of a large variety of imports and micros. My current top contender is New Castle!

After a big glass of water, i prefer any of your finer american pale ales.
I like the Lost Coast Indica this week.

I've heard of that, would like to try it but none of the local purveyors seem to have it. Remind me - what's it like?
Guiness Stout, now thats a freakin drink.

Lots of water, red or blue Powerade, and chocolate soy milk with protein powder.

Bell's Pale Ale...mmm As a former resident of MI I spent alot of time in Kazoo watching my buds play rugby and enjoying the after-party. They don't sell Bell's down here in Phoenix, of course. Not that I've seen.
Anyway, I drink water, LOTS of water following a good ride.

I second that notion! UMMM New Castle! But I did try a new one last night... I think it was Black Toad or something, not as bad as I was expecting!

Kokanee...ok...any beer, I am not picky :)
Miller High Life, or PBR. The bigger the can/bottle, the better.

Mix grains, malt extract, hops, yeast, and water in a container and wait.
That's the simplified version :)
Your local homebrew shop will help guide you in the right direction... Definitely a good experience to brew your own!
As for favorite post-ride beers, my favorites are Rogue Dead Guy, Boont Amber, and Terminal Grivity IPA.

A big mixed fruit smoothie! Usually include the following whizzed up in the blender:
ice
1 Danon Light 'n Fit smoothie drink
1 banana
1 cup strawberries
1/2 cup blueberries
...or whatever other fruit I have on hand e.g. mango, raspberries etc.
Nice and cold, and full of good stuff!
Of course, if it's a particularly hot or long ride, I reach for the beer... Fat Tire, Grolsch or Breckenridge Avalanche usually.
:beer::beer:

Just kidding. I drink water.

Pre-ride: Usually water. Sometime coffee, and then a *lot* of water to account for the diuretic effect of the coffee.
Post-ride: Water or gatorade. Usually a yogurt.

Corona Extra with lime. :D
I wish. I just drink cold water. I will drink like a fish if i worked out hard. Then after my shower a protien shake.
For me the drink depends on the mood I'm in after the ride. Sometimes a good beer (hefeweizens, porters, nut brown ales or Scotch ales, stouts, lambics) is a godsend. Other times I'll want some espresso-driven iced coffee concoction. Still other times a fruit smoothie from Jamba Juice hits the spot. However, immediately post-ride, I will continue to down water. It helps keep me cool especially after I've stopped moving. Even during the ride if I have an energy drink, I will also alternate drinking water.

One of my favorite things to do, "post ride" is hit "Julia's Tacos" a little roadside mexican food hole in the wall restaurant. An order of Flautas or Enchillada's and some Orange Soda! Yummy!

I remember hearing or reading this motto somewhere: "Eat today for the ride tomorrow."
With that in mind, I add my vote of Guiness Stout. If there's a sandwich in every beer; Guiness Stout is a freakin' 6' party sub!
Never trust a beer you can see through!

maybes...
8)and yogurt or ice cream (plain)
9) enjoy?
its a party drink lol it does the job
Don't they call that a snakebite or something?
Over here snakebite is half cider half beer *any type* with blackcurrant cordial *fruit concentrate* tastes nice but sadly it smell like farts so you have to drink it quickly :D
I like Coke but i never drink it during, not after the first time, god that felt horrible. Blue prowerade is nice stuff, as long as its not a weak batch of the stuff.
Dont know how you guys drink alcohol after riding, makes me real thirsty usually.
