Iowa City police investigate robbery report

IOWA CITY - Police here are investigating an armed robbery they believe happened near Pepperwood Plaza, 845 Highway 6 East, early Saturday morning. Police say a man was walking across Broadway Street, near Highway 6, around 2:30 a.m. when another man riding a bicycle came up behind him and demanded that he hand over his money.
Police say the pedestrian was not injured when he complied with the robber, who was armed with a handgun. The robber, described as a black male in his 30s wearing a white coat, was last seen riding his bike south on Broadway Street, police say.
Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect. Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering up to $1,000 for anonymous tips leading to this suspect's arrest.
