in my pain cave. it looks like i'm smiling but all i remember about that point in the race is tunnel vision and trying to keep the ole airway open.

That was a great course. Alot of lung burning on the backside climbs then no recovery before you hit the barriers and "mulch". Those dang "acorns" or whatever they were got me twice around the turns under the trees.
I can't imagine how you guys did it on a SS. I pushed all of my 38x27 on those back side hills.
I did the masters (~:40) and C races but ran out of gas towards the end of the C race to try to bridge any gaps and move up. I remember passing Seth (Florida jersey) early in the race on his SS on one of the climbs and looked down to see he was only spinning one gear and gave him nice compliment for doing this on a SS.

yeah fall still hasn't really come to the mid atlantic. we're mid-drought too so no mud yet.

one other fun fact: the race was called "superior cross" because its main sponsor was the superior paving company.

didn't pay too much attention in english class, but i believe that's what we call "irony."
