Anyone else being told "Server too busy...please try again later" over and over again?

I guess it means I really do need to get off of here and to work. Improvements for this server have yet to materialize and it just continues to seem slower and worse than before. :(

Quit breaking it.

Now what did I do? And don't you use this as your chance to ban me either. :p

I got that message when I clicked on this thread. I chuckled.

Thank you, Voltman. I agree this should be here so perhaps those in power will take a peek. Guys, this forum is really just problem after problem. What's going on?

I don't know, but it's been slow for me, too. I've moved this to Forum Suggestions & User Assistance, as it seems to be the place where the tech guys check for user reported problems. Don't take that as a sign to stop reporting your difficulties, though. :)

Grrrrrrrrr...this sucks

Yeah, this is strange. Thanks for pointing it out, guys. I'll make sure the tech guys see it.

As for the kidnapping, well... I don't think you'd get much for ransom, unfortunately. :(

Getting the same thing. Plus seems slower this afternoon.

Same problem here. I didn't mind the outages as much when this was a mom & pop operation (I gave money because it was, in fact). Now it just kind of sucks.

Bikeforums.net is slow due to the SoCal wildfires.

Trust me there were plenty of problems when this was a "mom and pop" organization. Overall, i am suprised to say that there have been fewer since the sale. But I also must say that there is a problem since the recent server migration.

+1 - it's sucked all day long.

Numerous "Server too busy" messages, slow page loads, errors when trying to post, etc.

we could just all move to cyclingforums.com and take the place over...just a thought...

here's what it said when I logged in over there today..

"Hello dauphin it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our over 100 forums. A few popular destinations include our Cycling Training (http://cyclingforums.com/f49) forums, our Bike Café (http://cyclingforums.com/f47) and our most active forum Cycling Equipment (http://cyclingforums.com/f48)."

Is anyone else having problems this morning?

I'm seeing multiple server resets, and database errors.

ok...at least today I'm not getting the message that the server is "too busy" but I am getting "Database Error" every time I click a thread...I have to keep hitting the refresh button.

+1...it really sucks today.

As a BF advertiser and forum participant, this sucks!!

A heads-up from BF tech support acknowledging the problem, and an estimate on when it will be fixed would be appreciated.

Everything seems to be working at good speed for me except that I don't see a good many of the Avatars. Not a complaint mind you, just an observation.

Thanks for your patience everyone. It appears that a gremlin from the old server came over in the migration. We are attempting to track down a database connection leak in the code. In the meantime, we have setup a process to systematically kill off these orphan connections while we hunt the problem down. Please let us know if you encounter anymore problems. Thanks! -IB Tech Team

Thanks for the heads-up, and good luck tracking down your gremlins.

BTW - you might want to consider switching to a more robust development environment like ASP.Net / SQL Server (my tools of choice)...just sayin'...and ducking and running for cover. :D

Well, if killing orphans resolves the issue, go for it.
