Tubus Fly rack on a Poprad?

Have any of you tried mounting a Tubus Fly rack on a Lemond Poprad? The Fly is a small rack with a single upper strut that is normally attached to the brake bridge. On the Poprad, the "brake strut" does have a mount point, but on the side facing the seat tube, and the hole does not go all the way through. Presumably this is really designed as a fender mount point, but I'm wondering if it can be used to mount the Tubus Fly rack.

I would think it should work as the mount for the rack is adjustable/bend-able. The real issue is potential heal strike if you are using a larger pannier. The Tubus rack is shorter than most and the chainstays on the Poprad are 42.5cm which is on the shorter side. A Surly LHT (Not a Croos bike, I know!) has a chainstay length of 46cm. That inch + can make a big differen depending on the size of your feet and the size of the load you are carrying. Also the tubue fly is for lighter loads so no loaded touring on your cross bike!

Heh, nah, no touring...I got the bike mainly for winter training, but I'd like to be able to commute on my Poprad (34 miles roundtrip) without having a backpack.

So the load would be a change of clothes and a laptop.
