She really wanted to get a bike that she could keep up with me on, or at least look like she could. Since I ride a road bike and a fixed gear, I really wanted to get her a single speed. Since she really didn't want a fixed gear (afraid of falling, and he hasn't owned a bike in 12 years), and a road bike is WAY out of my budget, it just seemed like a good idea. Well, when we got to the shop, she decided that she really wanted a green one. The only single speeds that they had were grey or black. A test ride and $400 later, she is the proud owner of a hybrid Raleigh Detour 4.5.
Well, at least she will be on Friday when it arrives at the shop in the right size/color.
