when you've had the wind we've had the past couple of days! It's been great riding weather, other than the northern winds. I used my leg warmers for the first time this year on my morning commute.

Sunday afternoon, I went riding on some of the Plano bike trails. There was a good stout wind from the south, and riding south along those wide open power line easements was a bit rough. But it was much easier going back!

It's been said many times, but I'd rather have hills than wind. I thought that I'd ridden in the wind...until I moved here. Whew.

Wind is like hill training, only more convenient.

The wind has been a killer since Saturday. I had 2 very tough rides Saturday and Tuesday.

You just need to adjust your commute length. When I started home at 5:10pm, there was lots of wind. By the time I was getting home just around 8:00pm, dead still.

I also thought the search and rescue team was going to find me frozen on the sidewalk yesterday morning. I got it all right except the leg warmers. People up north must think we're wusses.

Well I think I'm a wuss. I used to commute in the ice and snow up in Connecticut and think nothing of it. Maybe some layers and a wind shell if there was going to be a cold rain. Now I'm breaking out the knee warmers at 50 degrees and I just went and picked up a pair of wind gloves since my CT winter outfit won't work down here. Yesterday I wore a long sleeve underarmor cold gear shirt under my short sleave jersey for my morning commute but I guess my blood has thinned or whatever they say. I'd probably freeze in Connecticut now.

UGH that wind is killing me though. I'd take the hills of my Connecticut commute with or without ice on them compared to the constant beating of head winds and cross winds I got yesterday.. Now the huge rain storm I rode through last monday that was really fun. Probably the most fun ride I've had in the 3 years since I've moved down here but wind for 21 miles eww no fun.

I have to agree! I thought I was done with the wind when I left Lubbock and for the most part, I have been. But, man has the wind been bad the last few rides! And to think I'm thinking about moving to Houston (where it's even flatter than Dallas).
