So I got my lady friend a Brooks B-17 Champion Special for her birthday, and you know the story. The post that worked with her old saddle doesn't quite have enough setback to give her a comfortable position. Any suggestions for a tasteful looking post in silver with some setback (27.2)?

How much setback did you have / are you looking for? Would the ubiquitous SR LaPrade suit?

I remember reading in the Rivendell Reader that the Simplex has the most setback of any vintage post.

Interesting. Definitely need more setback than a Laprade, as that is about the same amount as what she has on there already.

Most C&V-type bikes have more relaxed seat angles than a lot of modern bikes.

I have one of those Simplex seatposts (v heavy, good luck in finding one) and the setback isn't immensely greater than a Laprade. How much setback is required?
